Application: EITAR Thermocouples are used attached to safety devices for home and commercial/industrial gas operated appliances to detect presence or absence of flame.

CONSTRUCTION CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Standard Thermocouples are composed of a “Tip” which is exposed to the flame, a “Junction” used for mounting, a copper tube with an inner isolated wire forming an electrical “Link”, ending in a connector made with a “male nut” and a central hemispherical connection.
  • Two-Wire Thermocouple uses a copper wire instead of a tube.
  • One-Wire Thermocouple has a single central connecting wire; ground connection is made through the appliance metallic structure or grounding plane.
  • “Two-Leg” Thermocouples open the central wire to insert electrical contacts from Timers or overtemperature controls. Thermocouples with contact thermostats sensing overtemperature due to output failure of combustion gases are provided, according to Argentine Standard NAG 310.
  • Low electrical resistance external and internal conductors are made with electrolytic copper.
  • The “Tip” which is in close contact with the flame, is made with a heat and corrosion resistant metallic alloy, avoiding Chromium Carbide that increases the aging of the thermocouple.
  • “Junction” is made with brass and could be supplied in different profiles.

There are three connection types:

  • Standard, that uses  “male nut”  8x1 (mm.); 9x1 (mm.) and 11/32-32NS-2E.
  • Receptacle “Fast-on” made of Phosphorous Bronze, 7 mm central connector and 6,3mm ground connector.
  • Coaxial connector,  2,1 mm diameter central pin and 9 mm external.

INSTALLATION DATA:

  • EITAR provides a wide variety of “junctions” which can be adapted to different assembly needs and  customer requirements.
  • Maximum adjusting torque of the connection nut: 4Nm.
  • Minimum bending radius: 25 mm.
  • Maximum temperature in the device to which the “junction” is attached: 250ºC

PERFORMANCE:

  • For any type of gas.
  • Thermoelectric FEM without load (tip at 650 ºC.) : > 30 mV.
  • Electrical Resistance =  8,6+0,22 x L (milliohm), where  L: thermocouple length (cm).
  • Tip maximum temperature: 750 ºC.

Standard lenghts: 250 to 1500 mm.
